Book Hate

Category: Opinions

Rarely do I ever hate a book, I usually find something worthwhile in whatever I read. However, I can safely say that I feel nothing but abject hatred toward Dune. It’s the current selection for my little two person book club, and I think I hate it worse than Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It’s powerful bad.

I’m just over halfway through Dune and I’m starting to feel like I’d rather eat glass than finish the other half. كازينو آنلاين It’s that tedious. I wish Paul Atreides would just die in a fire.

Are you really halfway through? I remember when I first read it, I thought it was shite until something like page 162 when the revolution happens. Herbert takes way too long to get going.

Then I thought the post-p.162 (or whatever) stuff was great, along with Dune Messiah and Children of Dune, then he skipped forward several millennia and it went back to suck.

Of course, I read them when I was about thirteen. Haven’t ever had the motivation to go back and reread. Heavy stuff.

It sucks you don’t like it. I loved the series and have re-read Dune many times. I can see how some would see it tedious though.

Dude. It’s award-WINNING. You don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m revoking your right to review books. *snatches back your book reviewer card*

…okay, I never read it, myself. But the movie had some great quotes! “The sleeper must awaken!” 😀

And come ON, Paul is the Kwisatz Haderach. He need to die more impressively than just “in a fire”. You can redeem yourself by coming up with a better death for him. *nods solemnly*

And I still only half-know what I’m talking about.
