My manicure…

I went with purple!

Like my clothes, my manicures are never, say, hot pink. العاب كازينو مجانية

I could get anybody to paint my nails, but I like the whole manicure experience. You get the hot towels, a hand massage, nails trimmed, filed, buffed shiny. It’s very relaxing.

I like this post. It reminded me of an interaction with a friend many moons ago…

Years ago I worked with an athletic dude named Darius. He played and reportedly excelled in just about every team sport you can think of. While I’m more the type to watch a documentary than a football game, we were brought together through working in a very stressful sales environment. One day Darius proudly proclaimed his enjoyment of pedicures. I don’t for the life of me remember what started that line of conversation, but it had such an impact I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I was like pedicures, Whaaattt? In disbelief I asked – “giving or receiving?” to which he replied that he liked getting them. I think my knee-jerk reaction was to say “You gotta be shittin’ me!?!”

Without any provocation, or apparent fear of ridicule, he pulled off his shoes and socks to prove it. His over emphasized movements gained the attention of the surrounding cube dwellers and he quickly had a small crowd of interested onlookers gathered.

Being generally repulsed by the thought of men’s feet, I didn’t want to look, but I did… And damn, they looked better than the hooves of most of the ladies in the office – Well cared for, clear coated and obviously pedicured!

I had known Darius for years, and I knew his wife for a couple of years prior to meeting him (although they weren’t married just yet). For him to so proudly proclaim his love for getting pedicures seemed to fly in the face of what any red blooded, testosterone driven male would do. He got a lot of laughs and jabs about his masculinity (or lack there of), but I think he also gained the respect and admiration of a whole lot of people that day (either consciously or subconsciously).

I respect him to this day for his lack of fear. I mean after all, it takes a lot of balls to admit something so unconventional. But more so than that, I think I admire his love of self and willingness and care for his own being.

I don’t know if my rambling makes any sense here, but I want to say that I think it’s awesome that you treat yourself in such a kind way as to get manicures…

    !MORE POWER TO YOU!

I think it’s just great and more people should follow your lead, whether it be a manicure or whatever makes them happy!

    Thank you for sharing!

I think I’m going make an appointment to get my back waxed! 😛
